The following is a collection of questions we receive most often. Hopefully, our answers here will help provide the information you need, but we have also provided links to pages that address the topics in more depth.

What is Good Measure Meals™?

Good Measure Meals™ is a convenient and affordable way to get balanced nutrition while enjoying FRESH and delicious ready-to-eat meals that are designed to help you meet your health and weight goals.

Who owns Good Measure Meals™?

Good Measure Meals™ is owned by Open Hand/Atlanta, a nonprofit organization. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Good Measure Meals™ plans go to Open Hand to support its Comprehensive Nutrition Care™ program, which “combines home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life.” For more information about Open Hand, visit their website at www.projectopenhand.org.

Is it a diet?

Our meal plans are designed to provide optimum nutrition and are portion-and calorie-controlled to help customers lose weight, maintain a healthy weight or just eat a well-balanced diet. They are also an excellent tool for the management of certain chronic health conditions; such as, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and hypertension. Because our menus are designed following the healthy eating guidelines of the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association and American Dietetic Association, we are not a “fad” diet, but incorporate all the nutrients needed for a healthy lifestyle.

What are my options?

You can choose our 3-meals-per-day plans or our Dinner plan, which includes one meal per day. The 3- meal-per-day plans come in four calorie levels: 1200/day, 1400/day, 1700/day and 2100/day. The Dinner plans come in 400 calorie/meal and 600 calorie/meal. All meal plans can be ordered for 5 or 7 days per week and are available in our Healthy Selection, No Seafood, Vegetarian and Diabetic menus. See meal plan descriptions

How much does it cost?

The pricing of our meal plans is very affordable. We want everyone to have access to a healthy nutrition program, so we’ve priced all our meal plans (Healthy Selection, Healthy Selection No Seafood, Vegetarian and Diabetic) as follows:
1200 Calorie 3-meals-a-day: $20.99 per day
1400 Calorie 3-meals-a-day: $22.49 per day (incl one snack)
1700 Calorie 3-meals-a-day: $23.99 per day
2100 Calorie 3-meals-a-day: $26.49 per day (incl two snacks)
400 Calorie Dinner Plan: $10.99 per day
600 Calorie Dinner Plan: $11.99 per day

What type of food is included in your meal plan?

Our Healthy Selection meal plan is comprised of lean USDA certified meats, seafood, fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains and low fat dairy products.

Do you have a Vegetarian meal plan?

Yes. The Vegetarian meal plan is a lacto/ova menu, which means that it includes eggs and dairy products. It is available in all the same calorie levels and options as our Healthy Selection menu.

Can I request meal substitutions?

We do not offer meal substitutions at this time, however, we do offer a “No Seafood” option which is our Healthy Selection menu with our Vegetarian meals substituted for the two meals per week which contain fish or seafood.

How much do I have to order at one time?

Since we have no long term contract requirements, you are free to order as little as a 5-day plan or as much as a 4 week plan at one time.  Once purchased, 4 week plans are non-refundable.   For your convenience, all orders automatically renew unless you notify our customer service department no later than 4pm on Thursdays in order to affect the following week’s order.

What is Automatic Renewal?

In order to keep things as simple as possible for our customers, we will set up your meal plan order to automatically renew every Thursday afternoon at 4pm. This is so you do not have to remember to contact us each week to keep your meal plan going.

Can I temporarily stop my meal plan?

Our service is very flexible. If you need to suspend your meal plan for any reason, just call our office by 4pm on Thursday of the week before and let our customer service representatives know.

How much variety is there?

LOTS! Our menus are on a five week cycle and every meal is different for the entire five weeks. At the end of the five weeks, the cycle begins again. In addition, every six months we redesign the menu to include new recipes, seasonal foods and customer requests. Click here to go to our menu pages.

How long will my meals keep?

Since we do not add preservatives to our foods, we recommend you eat your meals as scheduled in our menu and at regular times of the day. If you cannot eat your meals as scheduled, freeze them immediately or give them to a friend or neighbor.

Can I eat your food if I have a food allergy?

Reactions to food allergies can not only be severe but also deadly. If you have a life-threatening allergy, we do not recommend you use this service.

What is the cost of delivery?

We add a distribution fee of $3.00/week to orders delivered to our pickup locations. Our home/office delivery option is available for metro Atlanta customers and starts at $27.50 per week. That charge covers two deliveries per week of fresh Good Measure Meals™. Your actual delivery price will be calculated based on your zip code when you place your order.

What time of day can I expect to receive my delivery?

Home deliveries are made between the hours of 2pm and 8pm. Office deliveries are made between 10am and 4pm. All deliveries are made on Monday and Thursday each week.

Can I pick up my meals?

Absolutely! We offer over 80 pickup locations. Save on the cost of your plan each week by picking up at one of these locations. Each location has designated pick up times on Mondays and Thursdays. Click here for a current list of our pickup locations.

How do you deliver the meals?

Unlike other services that use their “distributors” to deliver your meals in their personal, non-refrigerated vehicles, all our meal plans are transported in our fleet of refrigerated delivery vehicles. If you are not available during delivery hours, you simply place a cooler outside of your door and our driver will place your meals inside the cooler with ice packs. For an additional fee, we can provide a reusable insulated bag for this purpose.

Where do you deliver?

We are an Atlanta based company and our home or office delivery service is available anywhere within the metro Atlanta area. We also have pick up locations all over the metro Atlanta area and in Athens.

Do you provide any type of coaching or support for people trying to lose weight?
