Calorie Calculator

The calorie calculator can be used to estimate the calories you will need per day. It is only a guide to help you lose weight.

The calorie calculator is based on the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. The Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) can be calculated with the following formula.

Male:
BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) - 5 * age(y) + 5

Female:
BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) - 5 * age(y) - 161

The calories needed to maintain your weight equal to the BMR value multiply by an activity factor.

Try not to lower your calorie intake by more than 1000 calories below maintenance. Doing so may invoke the bodies starvation response, which can lead to the Yo-yo dieting effect. Try to gradually lower calories. A sudden drop (such as 500 calories or more) can cause your metabolism to slow.

The results of this calorie calculator are an estimation based on average.
